Hey………

14 Aug

Hello!!

I know, I know, it has been forever since i wrote anything. I really have no excuse, life in Kampala is like a roller coaster so much happening, too much noise no quite time. Just a string of parties and more parties.

So answers to the most frequently asked questions:

  1. YES, I am very much SINGLE
  2. No, I don’t plan on leaving Uganda any time soon but I have lots of trips planned
  3. Yes, I have fully settled in to the Ugandan flow of life
  4. The men in my life have been put on hold and my life is a little less dramatic
  5. No, blogging is not a thing of the past(I mean I am blogging right now)
  6. No marriage in the near future(see numero 1)
  7. No, a lady never discloses such information!!!
  8. Yes I still play that game you don’t remember

I am going to spend the weekend with a few dear friends and hope I can free myself from a pending wedding ceremony

Till next time.

To be honest I am not sure I will be back to regular blogging, I am trying to date, be happy, lose some weight and be happy all the time no matter what.

Update – Half year Mark

27 Jan

Hello beautiful People,

Happy New year(I hope it is not too late). I must apologize  as I have not blogged in such a long time, moving home has been a bit over whelming(I should have taken a few weeks off). It was off the plane and straight to work! Which has been a roller coaster ride.I probably carried on way too much in the first couple of months but I thank God all is well and he has been faithful in so many ways.

I have had so many things go on, I have played in two tournaments since I got home, joined a gym(yes I know) and can fit in a bikini(ok, I could always fit in one) but I am more confident walking a round the pool in one hehehe.

I fell in like with probably one of the hottest men I have ever met, gosh he is movie star material with a temper to match, we started out with an awkward silence/friendship and in the last month or so we are over the awkwardness and now we are in a comfortable friendship which is great(my sister keeps pressing me to do more) but I am not that type of person. During our conversations I found out he is not that intelligent and I love intelligent me, geeks just do it for me(but he is hot!). Yesterday I was seated under a tree waiting my turn to play and he comes and tries to make me wear shades I gave him the brother please look hehehe (I guess I should have been a little more open) I am working on it. I think dating outside your race is a challenge because what I might find appropriate might be totally inappropriate to him. I am trying to find middle ground to get out of the uncomfortable zone. (I never thought I would even consider dating out side my race but I guess with age comes maturity)

Yes I finally moved out of home, I lived with my parents for a few weeks and moved in with my brother(who is amazing!!).

One thing that is still pending is catching up with all my friends, because of the work schedule it has been almost impossible to meet up with my friends(hopefully the wedding season coming up will be a good one). So this year I am putting more effort to met up with my friends.

Lastly I have embarked on a 40 day fast with my Church(never done that before) day 8 is here and I am super excited, only good things this year.

I hope to get married this year(I shall get back to  you at the end of the year, so keep me in prayer)

Have blessed week

Pool madness

4 Jul

Hello good peoples.

So I am in my final week before I move back to Uganda.  So much to do! I have managed to pack and sell off almost all my  belongings and moved house closer to my office.

I am house sitting for a friend who is out of town for a while.  She happens to have a pool in her house. So I have been skinny dipping everyday!

The house helps have a separate section of the property as their residence so lots of privacy. At frist they liked to walk into the pool area but one must have spotted me swimming.  Now when I am home none of them walks by hehehe.

Secondly they must think I am a whore. The first night my friend came by (he walked me home after a tea date) the gate man locked the gate and my friend had to climb over! Luckily the got the memo and nolonger lock my male company in considering I have male guests almost every night (trying to make up for lost time with me). The girls pass by during the day for lunch or a dip in the pool.

All in all I am enjoying this time before I go into Kampala madness.

Have a fab weekend!

Update

2 Jul

Hello Good people,

My apologies for not writing. So much going on in my life right now.

For one i got promoted with in the group and i move country, to my beloved Uganda!!!

Looking forward to great things to come.

Will keep all of you posted on the happenings in my life.

A new journey

17 Apr

Good morning Beautiful people,

I hope you are well and the God Lord has been keeping you safe.

In January, we had a breakfast session at one of the five-star hotels for a friend’s birthday on my return(that was late afternoon) i weighed my self(yes i own a weighing scale) and i was heavier than i had ever been. I was over 74 kilograms! I decided to embark on a weight loss and fitness routine. My target was to lose and maintain 10kgs by the end of the year.

I started by first of all changing my eating habits, more fruit and vegetable and i literally worked out 5 days a week. I chose evenings because morning are tight and i am not a morning person.

1. I run three times a week for about 6 kilometers(If i was in a good mood i run 4-5 times a week)

2. I play ultimate twice a week for two hours minimum.

3. Yoga at least twice a week.

At the beginning i was not seeing any results at all! But i was training for a tournament (i was beyond motivated). January i hardly lost any weight! It drove me to work harder. The tournament came and my team won!! I played so many games that weekend and ended up with a major injury that had me out for over a month. During this time i walked and did yoga mostly. The strange thing is i did not put on any weight.

I returned to actively working out(at a lower scale of 3-4 times a week). It has been about two weeks now. In total i have lost slightly over 7 kilos in the last four months.

I have learnt some lessons while on this fitness journey.

1. During my off time i maintained the weight but was not as fit as before. Weight loss does not mean fitness

2. I worked my body so hard at the beginning and it was so  unnecessary  Now i am going slower and being nicer to my body(I would combine the 6km jog and yoga).

3. Drink lots of water and eat more fruit and vegetable.

4. Motivation. Unlike most people i prefer to work out alone(except for ultimate). I used to make a mango and mint smoothie before i run and that is what made me run back home quickly hehehe or made plans to hang out with friends and it gave me limited time to do the run the sooner i got home and dressed up the better.

5. Do not deny yourself some of the little pleasures in life such as yogurt  chocolate, ice cream not forgetting good food! But all these should be done in moderation. Once a month for the above will not kill you.

6. No alcohol, sugar and carbonated drinks. This was the easiest of them all. I have been alcohol free for like all my life and the two for the last two years.

What you eat is very important. I realized that i ate a lot more than my body needed. I do not eat after 8pm.

So this time while in Uganda, a Kenyan friend invited me to lunch with his friends(it was his first time in Uganda) The HEAT in Kampala was on another level. I think we hit 36 degrees at one point. It was too hot to have a normal meal, i think i hardly ate while in Uganda. I had lots of water and fruit during the day and a light meal at dinner(which my dad monitored hehe) i digress  Any way so we are at his hotel and the waitress is taking our order and everyone(men) order their meals, when it comes to me, i order a salad and sugar free juice. I look up from the menu and good Lord the looks on the men’s faces (except my friend, he is used). If i was being interviewed for girl friend material by his friends, i failed miserably hehe. When it came to paying the bill, his friend said, “i put the salad on your bill?” Like he could not say my meal

I will be updating my journey to let you know how it is going.

Oh, i am currently training for a marathon 🙂

Have a blessed day

Three decisions

12 Apr

Good morning Beautiful people,

How is the new month treating you?

I am well, so much has been going on! Yesterday i read a friend’s blog and one post in particular caught my eye, she was talking about writing our autobiography and how we shouldn’t  wait till we are old and tired to write them but rather start now, every day, one post at a time.

Over the last couple of weeks i have been trying to sort my life out, not that i have a disorganized life but rather, just reevaluate my goals. But i have been praying mostly for guidance in a lot of things

I did my exams recently and i was asking God to help me pass and secondly if i should continue with the course i am doing. I applied for grad school and i have been put on a waiting list, i hope i shall be admitted and granted a scholarship. Either way i will be studying i just need God to open doors for me.

My company asked me to apply for a job opening in Uganda and the way things look i might be transferred  I do want to go home but not right now, i want to move to another country for another two years then i shall settle back home. the thing is the company the group wants to move me to has liquidity problems, i already asked God a long time ago not to employ me in companies that do not pay employees on time. I had a bad experience once, i had backlogs of salary of up to 6 months. So if the company can not pay me on time i am not interested in working for them.

Lastly, i met some one, (ok not really)  but i finally clicked with a Christian man! Gosh, it was such as beautiful moment to meet a man who not only loves God but we have so much in common, yet we are so different. We met about a year or so ago at a friend’s event and i never even looked at him twice. He was the skinny quiet guy in the corner. Then recently i found myself seated next to him on Sundays. Then on Easter we had a group lunch(us single people lol) and we hit it off. Since then we chat everyday. Then yesterday he told me he likes me! I didn’t know what to say because it was on whatsap!

Now i have a bone to pick with dating today, what happened to good old phone calls? Everyone seems to be using whatsap to date! I am very old fashioned and i would prefer to be asked out in person on a date or some thing.

So my dilemma is i might be moving country soon and i have no idea what to do about the man. It is has been very tough for me to click with a guy at this level that i have resorted to God(as always)to help me out.

I have been on a soul, Jazz and blues phase, i realized that i listen to music in a very systematic way. For example i will have a reggae and ragga phase, then worship 101, then world music then a Deitrick Haddon phase. The man in question found me in a soul, jazz and blues phase. poor him he can’t reconcile that i am such a dance hall fan! Any way lots of learning to do.

In other news my birthday is coming up soon and my Boss has already booked to take me to dinner, since he has resigned, he is giving me half of his library of books as a parting gift! I am super excited. The man in question is also looking for a plan for my birthday and i have no idea what i would want to do with him. All i want is to spend it with friends.

Have a great weekend

Home, where i belong.

6 Mar

I am currently in Uganda. Long over due holiday. Looking forward to catching up with family and friends.  So much has gone on lots of babies in the picture.

This weekend my family and i are doing a road trip and it happens to be in the town a man i once loved deeply lives, yes i am.going to visit him and his wife. I think enough time has passed and we can be friends of sort. I do admit he was a good friend. A brief drop in wouldn’t hurt. I will update on how it goes.

In other news my girl is expecting! Gosh, i am.super excited!! Already booked god mother position. I slept over at her home last night and came back with lots of sexy, sexy outfits. According to her i should consider them borrowed and should be returned as soon as she slim down hehehe. She wishes.

No serious man in my life. I think i am afraid of commitment Lord help me!

Blogging from my phone as i get my hair braided. Yes after a long time i upgraded hehehe.

Shout out to Uganda girl, Jollof . Virtual kisses to both of you.

Have a fab day.

Farewell My Baby

7 Feb

Last Saturday, the neighbor called me to ask if Jim was in my house, i said no and he probably run away and would be back soon.

later in the afternoon i realize he is not yet back. Only to be told he is dead, knocked not too far away from home.

Farewell my baby, we had some great times, the thought of having to replace him is too much.

Happy New Year

25 Jan

Happy new year!

My apologies for going AWOL but i really haven’t had any thing to write about. Yes lots going on in my life but writing didnt come naturally.

The best thing to have happened to me is my best-est friend came to Uganda for the Christmas break. Thank you love, for every thing.

And my good friend Abba Lang of Klear Kut aka missing link was in town as well, he is still as talkative as ever. I didn’t realize that we last met eight years ago! How time flies but it was  nice catching up even if it was for a short time.

Hope to get my writing mojo back soon.

Have a fab weekend
